we'd, part four. and the saga continues...
i thought i had been "we'd" in every which way. but of course, just when you think you're immune to it , it sneaks up on you and bites you in the aars again.
apoz and i went to running fit in high hopes of scoring at the art (un)fair sales. the sale selection was weak so we got suckered into really needing a new pair of full-priced shoes. i was in search of a second pair of shoes to complement the new asics that i picked up in seattle. so naturally, i sought advice from the sales associate.
and then i got "we'd."
me: i have these asics (pointing to shoes) and i'd like to get another pair of shoes so i can alternate running in them.
sales associate: ok...and what are we training for?
me (confused, if not stunned, at the unexpected "we"): um, a marathon.
sales associate: and when are we running the marathon?
me: uhh, october (thinking, is he running it with me?).
sales associate: and how do we like the asics so far?
me: they're fine, no problems.
sales associate: and how what's been our longest run? and did we have any problems with the asics on the run?
and so on and so forth. god, it's even irritating to write about!
the end result was good - i left with a pair of brooks glycerin. truly, i was drawn to the name after reading this article in the times about training marathoners for the beijing olympics (thanks, ec!)
apoz and i capped off the experience with a huge bag of kettle corn.
can we think of any better way to spend an afternoon?
